Anti-microbial resistance (AMR) is a significant and growing societal challenge worldwide, with annual deaths resulting from antimicrobial-resistant infections estimated to potentially rise to 10 million a year in 2050, from the current level of 700,000. To address this, comprehensive approaches that are capable of identifying patients at high risk, support early detection, facilitate data sharing and timely interventions which integrate infection control measures and antimicrobial stewardship programmes (ASPs), and the use of rapid diagnostic tests are needed.
The webinar “Data-driven approaches to strengthen AMR management & prevention” will be held on 21st December 2022, 9:00 to 11:15 cet to share with a broader community the challenges faced at the different levels (international, national, regional, local) to effectively address AMR, and the good practices that could inspire action to be implemented throughout the EU, and globally.
The webinar will gather the views of distinguished experts from high-level organisations, such as the World Health Organisation, European Commission, and the European AMR Patient Group, in a collaborative effort to create synergies and address one of the major global health threats.
